Other name: Lily aldehyde, lysmeral, butylphenyl methylpropional, Lilial, Lilyall
Liliales is a synthetic aromatic aldehyde commonly used as a perfume in laundry powders and often under the name butylphenyl methylpropional. It has been banned from use in cosmetics by the EU in March 2022 after being found to be harmful to fertility.
As a racemic mixture, Liliales has a strong, floral odour and is redolent of cyclamen and lily of valley.
